KELLYLEE EVANS

Kellylee was awarded second place at the 2004 Thelonious Monk Jazz Vocals Competition, judged by Quincy Jones and Dee Dee Bridgewater. Since then, she has won the 2011 Juno Award (Canada'a Grammys) for best vocal jazz album for her collection “Nina (Plus Loin)”, a selection of Nina Simone compositions. She has opened for legends such as Tony Bennett, Maceo Parker and George Benson and now regularly headlines her own shows in France and across Canada. We present three of her own compositions.

ALEXIS BARO

Cuban born and raised, Alexis brings touches of fire and a full range of emotions to his work as a sought-after trumpeter, having backed up the likes of Andrea Bocelli, Omara Portuondo, Robert Goulet, Paul Shaeffer, Paul Anka, David Foster, Baby Face, Wayne Newton, Michael Buble, Tom Jones. Now Alexis is composing and creating his own jazz/funk sound, these are just his first recordings of his material. We can't wait for more.

BASIC ENGLISH

This award-winning band has been on a musical journey for almost 30 years, starting with classic rock and exploring other genres, such as roots/country. We present their first album of rock, and another album of roots, both underlining their great songwriting chops. They have honed their skills and will be releasing a new recording in early 2012, to be produced by Michael Philip Wojewoda (Bare Naked Ladies, Great Big Sea, theme for "Big Bang Theory").
