The Kings
The Kings

The Kings were formed in Vancouver, British Columbia and Oakville, Ontario. Original members were David Diamond (lead vocal, bass guitar), Max Styles (drums), Sonny Keyes (keyboards, vocal) and Mister Zero (guitar). After years of writing, rehearsing and gigging, The Kings got their big break when famed producer Bob (Pink Floyd) Ezrin heard the band at a recording session. He was so impressed he helped The Kings get a major US record deal with Elektra Records in Los Angeles.

Best known for their massive hit single "This Beat Goes On/Switchin' to Glide", The Kings have kept recording and playing shows for over 25 years and have released 5 studio albums, 1 live album, an Anthology, and a DVD documentary. They have performed close to 2000 shows
across North America and have shared stages with Jeff Beck, Eric Clapton, the Beach Boys, Bob Seger, the Pretenders, Talking Heads, Robert Palmer, Joan Jett, Loverboy and more. The Kings were Cashbox Magazine's "Most Promising Group", were nominated for a Juno Award and were recently honoured with the #72 spot on "The Top 100 Canadian Singles of All Time", and were in Album Network Magazine's "Top 100 Radio Programmer's Picks of the Decade" in the United States.

An incendiary performance on Dick Clark's "American Bandstand" helped cement the band's reputation as a great live act. The Kings are at home on any kind of stage as headliner or support for any kind of show, and are seasoned professionals who know how to entertain a rock and roll audience of any age.
